Robert W. Maxwell, 88, of Hamburg, died Monday, November 2, 2015. Mr. Maxwell was a native of Parkdale and a resident of Hamburg for most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He retired from Georgia-Pacific Trucking in 1987 and he was a member of the North Main Baptist Church. He loved fishing and hunting and he was known as a "crappie-ologist", the man that shot the new dummy deer and a turkey baiter. His passion in life was watching NCHA cutting horses and listening to good Bluegrass Music. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sady Burgess Maxwell in 1998; a grandson, Chuck Gifford; his parents, John & Willie Allison Maxwell; six brothers, Raymond "Hoss", Wayne, George Harold, Hubert Lee, John Henry and Pete Maxwell; a sister, Florene McLeod and a daughter-in-law, Karen Sue Maxwell. He is survived by two sons, Billy Maxwell and Russell Maxwell and wife, Tracy, all of Hamburg; two daughters, Linda Sue Barnes and husband, Buddy, of Monticello and Ramona Sanderlin and husband, Mike, of Hamburg; 9 grandchildren, Rob Maxwell Jr., Crista Malone, Jared Maxwell, Heath Maxwell, Ashley Maxwell, Melissa Nash, Cija Joy, Cassie Jo Harrod and Bryce Sanderlin; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Wednesday in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Cleveland Cemetery. Pallbearers are Herman Mormon, Rodney Ricks, Charlie Maxwell, Jarrod Maxwell, Don Rankin and Wayne Rankin. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Cason, Jimmy Orrell, W.J. McKiever, James Robinson and Frankie Williams. Memorials may be made to the North Main Baptist Church, 1105 N. Main Street, Hamburg, Ark. 71646.
