Services for Thelma Johnston will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.cInterment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Thelma Johnston, age 94, of Alexandria, died on October 31, 2015 in Rapides Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 29, 1921 in Simms, La. to the union of Goode Lemmons and Bessie Brown Lemmons. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Margie "Marlaine" Johnston Dunn and Anita Johnston Backus (John C.), one son, Leonard Johnston III (Roxann); grandchildren, John B. Backus, Brandon S. Backus, Leann Backus Ward (Vince), Charles "Bret" Carey, Stephanie Carey VanDressar (David); siblings Margie Miles and Melvin Lemmons; two great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
