Sylvester Booth (also known as "Papa C" and "Cee"), 78, of Russellville, died Friday, October 30, 2015, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born October 27, 1937, in Scott, Arkansas, to Alvin and Lucille Pryor Booth. He was a member of the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the team who provided meals. At the church he loved to cook fish and fry chicken. He was a truck driver for United Van Lines for 37 years and never had an accident. He also loved to go fishing. Mr. Booth was a great husband, dad, granddad and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, and one daughter; seven brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Erma J. Booth; two sons, Sylvester Booth Jr. and Derrick Booth; four daughters, Rita Jones, Bryndalyn Roberts, Alecia Petty and Sonya Huddleston; one brother, Billy Booth; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Pastor A. Lee Tyus. Burial will be at Reed Cemetery and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the church.
