Michael Peyton

Michael W. Peyton, 65, of Sherrill, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 at home. He was born Feb. 26, 1950 in the Panama Canal Zone, Panama, son of E.L. and Mary Nixon Peyton. Michael was raised by his paternal grandparents, Edgar Lee and Hallie Goudy Peyton. He was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Watson Chapel High School. Michael served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. After that, he worked and retired as a machinist for the Cotton Belt Railroad. He enjoyed boating, listening to and playing music, playing pool, cards and loved playing the horses at Oaklawn! Michael was preceded in death by his parents and stepbrother, Steve Peyton. Survivors include his daughter, Michael Elizabeth Harris and her husband, Dr. John Harris of White Hall; granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Harris of White Hall; and stepsister, Patricia Bachman of La Mesa, Calif. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery for family and friends with Reverend Steve Monk officiating.
