Martha Anna V Helms

Martha Anna V Helms, age 90, of Malvern, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at her home. She was born at Rolla, Ark. on April 14, 1925 to the late Tom Thomas and Agnes Porterfield Thomas. Reared and educated in Hot Spring County, Anna V was a devoted mother to seven children. Anna V was a member of the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Colonel James Helms, to whom she was married on Sept. 11, 1943 in Malvern. He preceded her in death in 1977. She is survived by her children: Linda Daniel (Charles), Larry Helms (Kaye), Sheila Wilson (Mark), Pamela Rucker (Jesse), Rebecca Draper, and Kimberly Speed (Albert), all of Malvern; by 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers; a son, James Douglas Helms; and a grandson, Joshua James Kemp. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 10, 2015 at two o'clock in the chapel of J.A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Jesse Stripland and Brother Richard Sandage officiating. Interment will follow in the Damascus Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Rucker, Jason Helms, J. D. Wright, Bill Hughes, Terry Collins, Lynn Huneycutt, Brendan Lee, Luke Burton, Chanin Latham, Chris Sebourn, and Harley Petty.
