Alvin Alonzo Jones, 90, of Charlotte died Sunday November 8, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 19, 1925 in McRae, Arkansas to the late Jim Garlon Jones and Wilma McEuen Jones and later moved to Searcy, Arkansas with his family. Mr. Jones was a World War II Veteran who served as a paratrooper in the Normandy Invasion and received The Purple Heart. Mr. Jones was retired from Bealer Wholesale. He was a former member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Charlotte, a member of the Masonic Lodge Derita 0715 and a member of the VFW Post 9488. As an avid hunter and fisherman, Mr. Jones was the President of the Friendship Hunt Club for many years. He will be truly missed by his family and all of those whose lives he touched. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Wilda Willis Jones; brothers, Carthel Jones, Freelon Jones and Freeman Jones; sisters, Charlene Griffin and Sue Sawrie. He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Jones Justice and her husband, Bill; grandson, Troy Conn; granddaughter, Valerie Justice all of Charlotte; brother, Verlon Jones of Searcy, Ark. as well as many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday November 12, 2015 at Sharon Memorial Park. Robertson Funeral & Cremation Service is serving the family www.throbertson.com.
