Jackie F. Lawrence, 76, of Conway, passed away Monday November 9, 2015. He was born August 13, 1939 in Happy Valley to the late Verlon Scott and Annie Cardin Lawrence. Jackie was of the Methodist faith and was employed as a fireman of the Conway Fire Department for 20 years until his retirement. He was owner and operator of Duncan Street Grocery and Jackie's Fire Extinguisher Service. Jackie was also employed as a security guard at Hendrix College. He served as Commissioner and Umpire at YBMA Ballpark and enjoyed coaching pee wee baseball, football, and basketball. Jackie also enjoyed fishing and camping and was a hard worker who always provided for his family. Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Billie Lou Lawrence, children, Lea Ann Clark, Brooks Lawrence (Pam), Misti Sweere (Jess), grandchildren, Lacey Herndon (Jody), Brittany Lar (Brandon), Ben Lawrence (Tiffany), Caleb Lawrence, Anna Lawrence, Elizabeth Lawrence, Dave Sweere, Charlotte Sweere, Sally Sweere, Bobby Sweere, great-grandson, Landon Lar, sister, Carolyn Glover (Howard), and three nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 11th at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Benjamin Lawrence and Bro. Harold Claassen officiating. Burial will follow at Cadron Valley Cemetery in Greenbrier. Serving as pallbearers will be Caleb Lawrence, Bobby Sweere, Jess Sweere, Brandon Lar, Curt Colvin, and Jody Herndon.
