Elwood "Ed" Denman, 84, died surrounded by family in Hot Springs Village, November 9, 2015. He was born November 9, 1931, in Ashland, Wisconsin to Lloyd and Ada Denman. Following high school graduation, Ed served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as a Senior Aircraft Instrument Tech in the Strategic Air Command. In 1956 Ed completed shoe design school beginning his career at Northern Shoe Company in Pulaski, Wisconsin. He relocated his family to DeWitt in 1962 upon promotion as Northern Shoe Company General Manager. Ed finished his 40 year shoe industry career as General Manager and Director of Manufacturing for DeWitt, Clarendon, England, and Clarksville plants with Munro and Company retiring July 1996. After retirement, Ed relocated to Hot Springs Village and enjoyed life to its fullest! Ed found total enjoyment traveling motor home style going from the Great Lakes each summer to the Florida Keys each winter. Ed loved golfing, hunting, fishing, woodworking and puttering in his yard. His greatest joy in life was his family especially his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village where he served as an elder and enjoyed Faith Lutheran Men's Golf League. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother. Ed is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly Anderson Denman; daughters, Diana Graves (Kenneth), and Jeanne McCullars (Terry) both of DeWitt; granddaughters, Bethany Graves Atkinson (Tim) of White Hall, Lauren McCullars Wilson (Josh) of Jonesboro, Lydia McCullars Byrd (Craig) of Benton, La.; grandson, Layton Denman McCullars at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville; great-grandchildren, Kinley Atkinson, Jack and Bowen Byrd, and Benton Wilson; one brother and two sisters all of Wisconsin. Visitation is 9 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1196 Desoto Drive, Hot Springs Village. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. with Reverend Henry Behling and Reverend Paul Jilg officiating. Reverend Robert Benke will officiate the 4 p.m. Graveside Service at Crocketts Bluff Cemetery.
