Alta Mae Fortson LeMay, 85, a long-time resident of Cabot, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, with her family at her side. She was born April 21, 1930 in Olmstead to the late Homer and Minnie Bearden Fortson. Mrs. LeMay was a seamstress for Bancroft Cap Company and then went on to work for Maybelline on the assembly line. Mrs. LeMay loved canning vegetables and cooking for her family. Mrs. LeMay loved to fish and could out-fish all in the family. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William (Billy) LeMay of the home, three children; Janice LeMay Branscum and Luther of Leslie, twins; Rickie LeMay and Ann of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Vickie LeMay Keeton and Joe of Pottsville, her grandchildren; Kara Keeton Branscum and Kyle of Conway, Kellie Keeton Barnett and Joey of Marion, J.C. Keeton Jr. of Little Rock, and Reece LeMay and Amanda of Charleston, S.C. and two great-grandchildren; Haylie and Allie Branscum, of Conway. Mrs. LeMay is also survived by a brother, Maurice (Pete) Fortson and Velma Lee of Cabot and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Minnie Bearden Fortson, in-laws, Wilson and Captola LeMay, sisters; Emogene Fortson Smith and Freda Fortson Johnson, and brother, Jim Fortson. A wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be missed each day by her family. Family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home on Sunday, November 15th. Funeral service will be at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2015 with interment immediately following at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.
