Bonitta Louise Johnston

Bonitta Louise Johnston died peacefully on November 16, 2015 in Searcy, Arkansas after a battle with cancer. She was preceded in death in 2009 by her loving husband of 54 years, Arthur Guy Johnston. Louise and Guy had a long and happy marriage and leave behind many loving friends. Louise was raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and has been predeceased by her parents and four sisters, Mildred, Deloros, Berniece, and Mabel Sharp. She is survived by one sister, Jeannie along with her many nieces and nephews. Although Louise had no children of her own, Guy and Louise touched the lives of many young people and were considered foster grandparents by many. Louise contributed to her adopted home town of Searcy in many ways. She was an avid golfer, Razorback supporter, and she loved to travel with friends. She was generous with her time and cared deeply for her family. A visitation is scheduled at Powell Funeral Home on Friday, November 20, from 6-8 p.m.. There will be a graveside service at the Balch-Johnston Cemetery in the Balch Community, near Amagon, Arkansas on Saturday at 10 a.m. In lieu of memorial flowers, Louise would want memorials sent to First United Methodist Church or Newhope Industries in Searcy, Arkansas.
