Oregon Benjamin "O.B." Butler Jr.

Oregon Benjamin "O.B." Butler, Jr., age 89, of Ethel died November 23. 2015. He was born January 7, 1926 in Ethel to Oregon Benjamin Butler, Sr. and Elsie Kline Butler who preceded him in death. Also preceding him were an infant daughter, Anita Karen Butler, son-in-law, Stephen E. Dumond, great granddaughter, Lacy Elise Morgan, two sisters, Bernice Chavez, Polly Tinsley and a brother, James K. "Jimmy" Butler. He and his wife owned and operated O.B.'s Catfish Farm and Bait Shop in Ethel and he was a farmer. He was also a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Lavelle Dempsey Butler, daughter, Lucille Dumond of Ethel, brothers, George Butler and wife, Dorothy of Conway, Robert "Bobby" Butler of Hot Springs Village, sister, Ruth Johnson of Benton, granddaughter, Anita Morgan and husband, Kevin of Ethel, and great-grandchildren, Lilly Wilmoth, Emma Morgan, Kaitlyn Morgan and Bailey Morgan. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 25th at Belleview Missionary Baptist Church in Ethel with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home, DeWitt. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, c/o Jo Alla Nutt, 121 W. 14th St., DeWitt, Ark. 72042.
