Shelton Wright Carter

Shelton Wright Carter, age 88, a lifetime resident of Arkadelphia, died Thursday, October 1, 2015. He was born September 27, 1927 the son of William Barnard Carter and Sarah Elizabeth Wright Carter. He retired from Reynolds Metals Company after 32 years of employment, and was the owner-operator of Carter Wrecking. He was a lifetime member of Mt Zion Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Betty Joyce Ashley Carter. Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Carter McMaster, and Susie Carter Shehane (Bob) three grandchildren, Chris McMaster (Andrea), Cody Shehane (Katie), and Kristin Shehane; three great grandchildren Copeland and Mabry McMaster, and Caleb Shehane. Visitation will be Saturday 1 p.m. until service time. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 3rd at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Ray Franklin and Jim Polk officiating.
