BISHOP LEODIES WARREN, SR. was born Nov. 23, 1915 in Madison, Ark. to the late Emersion and Louvenia Warren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Goldie Warren; children, Dorothy Mae Warren, Alfred Warren, Sr., Catherine Thompson, and Leodies Warren, Jr.; and two grandchildren. Bishop Leodies Warren, Sr. was the pastor of Greater Christ Temple in Little Rock, Ark. and Great First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock for over 67 years until his health began to fail. Bishop Warren held the position of Diocesan Bishop of the 18th Episcopal District of the Arkansas District Council. He was the overseer of 41 churches. Although much honor and praise was bestowed upon him, he still remain humble and submissive to God's will. On Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, he transitioned from this life. Fond memories will remain in the hearts of his children: Pearlie Mae Blevens, Erma Jean Shavers (Roosevelt, Sr.), Edward Warren (Juanita), Johnny Warren (Caleita), Precious Beatrice Whitmore (Dwayne), Eunita Holmes (Gary), Wanda Faye Hall (Johnny), and Pastor Jerry Warren (Carol); two sisters, Pearline Davis and Ida Mae Williams; 50 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild. The Arkansas District Council Memorial Celebration will be held Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, 6 p.m. at Greater Christ Temple Church, 1200 Bishop Warren Drive. Home going celebration will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, 11 a.m. at Greater First Pentecostal Church, 5302 Hwy 161, North Little Rock.
