Daniel Richard Parat, 79, passed away September 30, 2015, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born October 23, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Tuley High School in Chicago, where he was company commander in the ROTC, and graduated from Elmhurst College, Elmhurst, Illinois. He served in the peacetime United States Army. He was a 32nd degree Mason (Scottish Rite) and a past Master of Lodge 1088, Berwyn, Illinois. Dan retired as an accountant from Teletype Corporation (AT&T) in 1992 after more than 30 years of service in Skokie, Illinois, and Little Rock, Arkansas. He enjoyed supporting his children's activities and in that capacity became the first in-state certified swim referee in Arkansas. Until health prohibited, he could be found at all of his children's and grandchildren's ceremonies and sporting events. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Parat and Richard Wilczek. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anne, their two children, Melissa Robbins (John) and Daryl (Lucy), and seven grandchildren, Zachary, Sarah, Luke, Andrew, and Michael Robbins; James and Katherine "Katie" Parat. . He is also survived by his sister, Evelyn Sroka, brother, Raymond (Nancy) Parat and many loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
