Funeral services for Raymond Bell Walker Sr. will be held at 11 a.m.M. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2015 in Peppers Lake Cemetery, DeValls Bluff, Ark. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2015 at John Kramer & Son Funeral Home. Raymond Bell Walker Sr., 93, of Alexandria, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Anna Walker; and siblings, Pat, Sis, Anita, and Dolly. Raymond served four years in the United States Navy during WWII on the Destroyer/Mine Sweeper USS Davidson 618. He served in the North Atlantic, Mediterranean, and Pacific Theaters. After settling in Alexandria in 1946, he worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad as a locomotive engineer, on both steam and diesel engines, for over 40 years. Raymond is survived by his wife of 73 years, Hattie Grace Alexander Walker of Alexandria, LA; 8 children, Raynal, Anita, James, Aubrey, Raymond Jr., Raye, Helen, and Grace; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He will be remembered as an honorable man of conviction, virtue, high ideals and generous spirit. Above all, Raymond Walker was a man of staunch, unwavering faith in God, and of dedicated love and devotion for Hattie Grace, who remains the very light and life of his heart.
