Richard Gibb Martin

Richard Gibb Martin, 82 of Star City, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born July 8, 1933 in Monticello to the late Travis Martin, who was a barber in Star City and Crossett and Alice Roosevelt Gibbs Martin, who died during child birth. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Star City. He delivered for the Pine Bluff Commercial and was a night watchman at Floyd's Sawmill. Also preceding him in death were his stepmother, Arlie Jones Martin; grandmother and grandfather who raised him, Ida Donaldson Martin and Rogna Ingram Martin. Survivors include sisters, Barbora Kay Martin Cole of Baytown, Texas, Marilyn Martin Decker of Dickinson, Texas and Myra Martin of Crossett; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dubs Byers officiating. Visitation is 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
