Vernon Jean McCanliss

Mrs. Jean McCanliss age 81 of Houston, Texas, died Monday Oct. 5, 2015. Mrs. McCanliss was born March 10, 1934 in Gilmer County the daughter of the late Arvil and Eva S. Tate Parker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd McCanliss. She was a home maker and member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. McCanliss was formerly of Cabot, Ark. where her and her late husband, Lloyd McCanliss were very active in community affairs local and state wide. Survivors include:Sons: Wayne McCanliss, Atlanta, Ga.,Allen McCanliss (wife Debbie,) Kingwood, Texas, David McCanliss (wife Janice), Coushatta, La. Grandchildren: Kimberlea McCanliss, Cleveland, Texas, Tiffany McCanliss West, Bossier City, La., Jacob McCanliss, Seattle, Wash., great-grandchildren: Mikayla West, Ainsley McCanliss Sisters:Pauline Ezell (husband Thomas), Blairsville Ga., Sister-in-law Laura Vermilion (Yukon, Okla.), numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. Graveside services will be held Monday 10:30 a.m. from the Pisgah Church of Christ cemetery with Minister Terry Stuart officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Bernhardt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
