Loyd Albert Gray

Loyd Albert Gray, 99, of Lake Village, Ark. passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015. Mr. Gray was born on April 29, 1916 in Greenbrier, Ark. to the late Albert Levi and Dura Johnson Gray. Mr. Gray was a U.S. Army Veteran, longtime farmer and worked at Sunflower Grocery Store in Dermott, Ark. He loved gardening. Mr. Gray loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. He was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and song leader for many years. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Marie Griswood Gray; son, Lowell Gray; sister, Doris Gray McDaniel. Survivors include his brother, Darrell Gray and his wife, Joyce of Monticello, AR and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Bellaire Baptist Church in Dermott, Ark. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Bellaire Baptist Church in Dermott, Ark. with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating. Burial will be at Dermott Cemetery in Dermott, Ark. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bellaire Baptist Church, 2596 Hwy 65 N., Dermott, Ark. 71638 or Arkansas Baptist Children's Home, 222 W. Pope Street, Monticello, Ark. 71655.
