Linda Parr Ivy

Linda Parr Ivy, 62, of Bella Vista, Arkansas passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. She was born March 27, 1953 in Abbeville, Louisiana to Janell and Dennis Parr. Graduated from East Ascension High School, Gonzales, Louisiana in 1971 and from Arkansas Tech University, Russellville, Arkansas in 1999 where she and her husband lived for 24 years before retiring to Bella Vista, Arkansas. While in Russellville, Linda worked for Entergy Operations, Inc. for 18 years and for Coldwell Banker as a Realtor for 5 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir at First United Methodist Church in Russellville, reading and gardening as well as working with people. Linda was one of the original founding members of Habitat for Humanity Pope County where she served on the board. Linda was an avid traveler. She loved the adventure of new places, people and food. Linda was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista. She is survived by her husband, Ted; one sister and brother-in-law, Karla and Eugene Anderson of Gonzales, Louisiana; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and David Roberts of Madison, Mississippi; and several nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held October 17, 2015 at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73123 or to the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, Arkansas 72715.
