Jack Quincy Carson

Jack Quincy Carson the son of Lois and Reba Mae Carson was born in Mountainburg, Arkansas on July 9, 1926 and passed away at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 14, 2015 at the age of 89 years. Jack was a member of the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs. He loved fishing and sports. He played football and basketball at College of the Ozarks and basketball at Arkansas State Teachers College now University of Central Arkansas where he graduated in 1958. He was a coach, teacher, a retired real estate broker and noted storyteller. He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater in the amphibious corps in World War II from 1944 through 1945. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers L.M. (Marvin) Carson of Mt. Vernon, Missouri and Bill Carson of Alma, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife of 56 years JoAnn Carson of Heber Springs and son Jarett Carson and wife Dr. Camilla Richmond of Boston, Massachusetts besides nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. The family ask that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Heber Springs, 201 North 4th Street, Heber Springs, Ark. 72543. A visitation will be on Saturday, October 17, 2015 starting at 10 a.m. in First Baptist Church and funeral services will be at 11 a.m. by Rev. J. R. DeBusk. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park at Barton, Arkansas at 4 p.m.
