Joan Olmstead Crist

Joan Olmstead Crist, 81, of Alexander passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Friday Oct. 23, 2015. She was born July 16, 1934 in Hot Springs, Ark. to the late Frank Hanford Olmstead Jr. and Francis Hall Olmstead. Joan graduated from Mount St. Mary's in Little Rock and Gulfport College in Gulfport, Miss. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years E. L. Crist Jr., sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene L. Crist III (Carol), Benton; Michael D. Crist (LaQuita), Alexander; Sister-in-law, Elizabeth Loomis, grandchildren, Brad, Conway; Dustin (Christy), Little Rock; Cody (Megan), Bryant; and Andrew, Alexander; great-grandchildren, Morrigan, and Keelan. Memorials may be made to Stagecoach Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Gentiva Hospice. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Ashby Funeral Home in Benton.
