Karen Reed Durkee

Karen Reed Durkee, age 55, of the Randall community near Rison, went to be with the Lord, Friday, Oct. 23, 2015. Mrs. Durkee was born Dec. 10, 1959 in Pine Bluff, a daughter of Rolean Laminack Reed and the late Billy Kenneth Reed. She enjoyed spending time with her family and there was a special place in her heart for her horse, Pebbles and dogs, Lilly and Lizzy. Mrs. Durkee was of the Baptist faith and she enjoyed Joyce Myers Ministries. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Glen Scott Durkee of the Randall community, whom she married Feb. 23, 1981; son, Bryan Durkee of Portland, Ore.; daughter, Denise Durkee Peoples and Michael of Benton; mother, Rolean Reed of Calmer; brothers, James Reed and Lea Ellen of Sheridan, Ronald Joe Reed of Hot Springs, Gary Reed and Debbie of Hot Springs, Randall Reed of Calmer; grandsons, Zachary and Ethan Peoples of Benton and by many loving nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 at Rowell Cemetery, with Brother Doney Blackerby officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
