Ocelee Ellis Qualls

Whitewater, Wis.: Ocelee Ellis Qualls, formerly of Newark, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015. Born Jan. 31, 1923 at Olyphant, she was the daughter of Theodore Roosevelt and Evelyn Rowland Ellis. Survivors include a daughter, Freda Briscoe of Whitewater, Wis.; two sons, Ronny Qualls of Newark and Thomas Qualls of Batesville; a stepson, Frankie Ray Taylor of Batesville; and a stepdaughter, Evelyn Taylor of Jonesboro; a brother, Milton Stubblefield of Newport; daughters-in-law: Lena Qualls of Peoria, Ill., Grace Gant Qualls of Newark, and Joyce Qualls of Jonesboro; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends that include the Birthday Girls and David Johnson; and a host of cousins, other friends, and acquaintances. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Qualls, Jr.; three sons: Edward Qualls, Rudean Qualls, and Eugene Qualls; two grandsons, Brian Qualls and Paul Briscoe, III; a brother, Charles Stubblefield; and two sisters, Ernestine Peel and Marie Tucker. The funeral will be held at Willis Funeral Service (3513 Harrison Street, Batesville) on Friday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. with visitation from 12 noon until services at 2 p.m. Pastor Robert Brown will officiate, and burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville under the direction of Willis Funeral Service.
