James P. "Jim" Cargill, 67, of Batesville died Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at White River Medical Center in Batesville after a short illness. Born March 26, 1948, in Batesville, he was the son of Bernard and Buna Cargill. Jim was a graduate of Batesville High School class of 1966 and received a business degree from Arkansas State University in 1971. He was retired as manager of Riverside Graphics printing and office supply store, and was co-owner of Carlee's Hallmark. He served as a member of Batesville City Council from 1976 through 2004. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jo, of the home; daughter Tricia Cargill and grandsons Corbyn, Cameron and Cayden Snell of Batesville; one sister, Judy Sturdivant (Butch) of Vilonia; and two nephews, Eric Sturdivant of Vilonia and Mark Sturdivant of Dallas. Services will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Monday at 11 a.m. followed by interment in the Memorial Garden at the church.
