Jacqueline "Jackie" Carmack, 90, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born June 3, 1925 in Cave Springs to Hubert and Jewell (Arnold) Johnson. She married Carl Carmack on July 29, 1945. Jackie became Southwestern Bell's first Service Representative in Springdale in 1946, and then took a break to raise her family. She retired from J.B. Hunt Transport in 1988. She was a volunteer at Northwest Medical Center for 20 years. Jackie was a member of First Baptist Church from 1946 until her death and taught children's Sunday school for many of those years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; brothers, Wilfred Johnson, Donald Johnson and Gary Johnson. She is survived by three children, Randol Carmack and wife Linda of Hindsville, Susan Fisher of Springdale, Allen Carmack and wife Sheryl of Collierville, Tennessee; one brother, Phillip Johnson of Eatonton, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Carly Fisher, Gretchen Silva, Gennifer Vancleave, Sarah Ponce, Nathan Fisher, Ashley Carmack, Taylor Carmack; eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, November 2, at Cross Church in Springdale. Interment will be at Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home, online guest book at www.heritageofnwa.com. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Circle of Life Hospice for the comfort and excellent care they provided.
