Sybil M. Martin

Sybil M. Martin, 97, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Wednesday, September 2, 2015. She was born April 6, 1918 at Barlett, Kansas to Anna (Graue) Murphy and John William Murphy. Mrs. Martin, a lifelong homemaker, attended Kansas State Teacher's College at Pittsburg and was a bookkeeper for Prudential Insurance Company before marrying Clarence S. Martin. They were married for 65 years before his death in 2005. She was a 50 year member of PEO currently of the BY Chapter in Bella Vista; 20 year member of the Bella Vista Women's Golf Association; and an active member of the Bella Vista Methodist Quilters. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Bobek of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Cathleen Reeder of Westcliffe, Colorado, Nancy Robbins of Steilacoom, Washington; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Jean Barber of Pittsburg, Kansas, Carol Ross of Cheney, Kansas, and Alma June Martin of Fort Payne, Alabama. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive, Bella Vista, Arkansas 72715.
