Robert Henry Porter, Sr.

Robert Henry Porter, Sr., 85, of Crossett, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 at his home. Born Nov. 3, 1929 in Monticello, Ark., he was the son of the late Henry W. Porter and Lillian Cason Porter. He graduated from Monticello High School in the class of 1947, served our country in the US Navy during the Korean War, and retired from the Ashley, Drew and Northern Railroad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Elaine Lewis Porter. Survivors include two sons, John David Porter of Crossett and Robert H. Porter, Jr. of Nashville, Tenn. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello. His body sleeps in Christ.
