Rosie Lee Merdieth

Rosie Lee (Evans) Kendrick Wigger Merdieth, age 97, of Danville, formerly of Mena passed away Monday, September 7, 2015, at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville. She was the daughter of the late Miles and Julie (West) Evans. She was born March 15, 1918 in Sims, Arkansas. She was of the Freewill Baptist Faith. Rosie will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and women with a kind loving heart. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Othel Kendrick; second husband, Jody Wigger and her third husband, Homer Merdieth; a son, Tommy Kendrick; daughter, Bettye Tucker and a step-son, Dennis Wigger. Survivors include a daughter, Bobbie Jones (Ezeal), of Gravelly; a daughter-in-law, Eva Harrison of Bryant; two step-sons, Audie Wigger (Sue) of Mena and James Wigger of New York; three step-daughters, Patsy Junkins of Cleveland, Texas, Coy Quinn of Mena, and Mary Sue Verner of Hatfield; eight grandchildren, Ken Kendrick (Chloe) of Houston, Texas, Dennis Jones (Sherrill) of Waldron, Billy Tucker (Karen) of Lonsdale, Lanney Jones (Dawn) of Gravelly, Carolyn Hastings (Ken) of Springdale, Randy Jones (Shelia) of Gravelly, Karla Lyons (David) of Sulphur, Louisiana, Kelly Kendrick (Donna) of Fort Benning, Georgia; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Briggsville Methodist Church with Bro. Donnie Jewel officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Briggsville and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Visitation will be Thursday at 1 p.m., until service time at the church.
