Hazel Lee Moore Oxner

Hazel Lee Moore Oxner of Brinkley, Arkansas was born January 24, 1924, in Swamp Poodle and died on September 6, 2015, in Searcy. The widow of Arque Dean Oxner, she is survived by her son William Earl Oxner and wife Kris Chadek of Higden; her daughter, Julia Ann Oxner Hall of Arkadelphia; her grandsons whom she reared--William Earl Oxner II and wife Tonya Patterson Oxner of Brinkley, and Michael Dean Oxner and wife Sarah Daniel Oxner of Searcy; and her granddaughter, Julia LeeAnn Hall Hyde and husband Todd Sanford Hyde of Chicago, Illinois. She had seven great-grandchildren William Earl Oxner III and Haley Annette Oxner of Brinkley; Mary Frances Oxner, Laura Grace Oxner, and Paten Dean Oxner of Searcy; and Johnny Sanford Hyde and Julia Kay Hyde of Chicago. She is also survived by three siblings: Bea Elliott, Irene Burns, and Col. Frank B. Moore and wife Peggy all of Memphis, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents William Anderson Moore and Francis Cleveland Carroll Moore, natives of Kentucky and siblings Jessie Lee Agnew of Paducah, Kentucky; Laura Tamble of Memphis, Tennessee; Mary Elizabeth Callahan of Forrest City; William Cleveland Moore of Brinkley; Joe Carroll Moore Sr. of Hughes, and Frances Parker of Hunter. She also leaves an extensive extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews and their families. A life-long Arkansas resident, Hazel was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed gardening and working with flowers, especially azaleas. She was a member of Brinkley First Baptist Church and the Love Sunday School class. The family sincerely appreciates the loving care Hazel received from her caregivers, Linda Holcomb, Carolyn Keys, Sheila Carter, and Freda Doepel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, at Fowler Funeral Home in Brinkley. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Brinkley First Baptist Church (215 West Elm) with Rev. Jim McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are Drury Traylor, Perry Galloway, Roger Wilkison, Jon Carroll, Jed Anderson, Richie Guthrie, and Brad Davis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Way, Little Rock, Ark. 72202 or to Brinkley First Baptist Church.
