SHIRLEY A. ALLEN-PETERS, 59, was born April 5, 1956 to the late William Allen Sr. and Ollie Mae Wiley-Allen in Tarry, Ark. Shirley was called home on Sept. 8, 2015. Shirley held a Master's in education attained at AM&N (UAPB). She taught in the Dollarway School District for many years before moving to Atlanta, Ga. (taught 3yrs) and then to Magnolia, (2 years). Shirley gave her life to Christ at an early age. Her church home was New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Ark. for many years until she moved to Little Rock in 2000. Under the leadership of Rev. H. Stewart, Shirley put her calling to work and became a minister at Moody Chapel until her health started failing her. Shirley was Worthy Matron to Stars of Serenity #982, during her leadership she was known for her exceptional community service and organizational skills. Shirley leaves three children; son, Kendrick (Shamekka) Lewis, Killeen, Texas; daughter, Felicia (Kelvin) Trotter, North Little Rock, Ark.; son, Reuben King Sr, Little Rock, Ark.; two siblings remain, brother, William (Ida) Allen Jr. Pine Bluff, Ark.; sister Bettye Allen-Harris, NLR, Ark. Family hour will be Sept. 16, 2015 at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. Funeral Service held Sept. 17, 2015 1 p.m. at Moody Chapel AME Church 5630 Mabelvale Pike Little Rock, Ark.
