Jessie "Buddy" Dodson

Jessie Hale "Buddy" Dodson, 91 of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Magnolia. She was born on May 28, 1924 in Metuchen, New Jersey. Her parents were the late Dr. Gaylord Floyd McLeod and Saline (Kelly) McLeod. She was a graduate of Texas Women's University and a school teacher for the Magnolia Public Schools and owner of The Little Red School House. Buddy was the oldest living member of the First Presbyterian Church in Magnolia, having joined in 1938. She was a member of the Junior Charity League where she enjoyed many years of Follies, and was a member of the Silver Sneakers Aerobic Class until her 80's. Buddy enjoyed playing golf and was a Magnolia Country Club Women's Champion in the 70's. She continued to play golf into the 80's (her age not her golf score). Buddy was also a better than average handicapper at Oaklawn Park. She is preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter Carol Ann Dodson; and brothers, Harlen Holmes and Kenneth Bourdier. Buddy is survived by her husband Cameron Dodson of Magnolia; son Mac Dodson and wife Pat of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter Susan Yerina Dees and husband Johnny of Magnolia; five grandchildren, Laura and Jimmy Richie; Davis and Sara Dodson, Grace Dodson, Chad and Lea West, and Todd and Shela West; and four great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 18th at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating.
