William "Sherrel" Shaver, 91, of Fayetteville passed away September 15, 2015. Born in Springdale, Arkansas at Pilgrims Rest to Robert and Jo Shaver. He attended Evergreen Grade School and graduated from Huntsville High School. Sherrel enjoyed traveling and he and Anita made several trips abroad to Egypt, the Holy Land, Italy and Switzerland. Sherrel loved fishing, hunting, golfing and big game hunting in British Columbia and the Yukon, Canada, and Alaska. He owned and operated Shaver and Son Produce in Springdale and had branch offices in Arkansas, Alabama, and Michigan where he bought and shipped fresh produce. He was the largest shipper of fresh produce in the State of Arkansas. He was held in high esteem by his many customers. He was a long time member of the Springdale Lions Club and Cross Church of Springdale. After moving to Butterfield Trail Village he became a member of First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. He was a quiet and kind man with a pleasant personality. Sherrel enjoyed being with his family and friends. We will all miss him. The family would like to send out a special "Thank You" to the nursing staff at Butterfield trail Village and Washington Regional Hospice for their loving care and support. He was preceded in death by by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Anita; two sons, Darrel Shaver and wife Carole of Anderson, Missouri and Jeff Shaver of Tontitown; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Bluff Cemetery in Springdale on Saturday, September 19, at 10 a.m. with Sisco Chapel in charge of arrangements. No visitation is planned.
