Helena Jean Bloesch

HELEN JEAN BLOESCH, 86, formerly of West Helena, Ark., away Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 in North Little Rock, Ark. She was born Helen Jean Lewis, Dec. 8, 1928 in Memphis, Tenn. to J. D. and Capitola (Pickering) Lewis. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Walnut Grove, Miss. As a teenager, they moved to Helena, Ark. where she graduated from high school. After graduation she met and married George W. Bloesch, Sr. on Oct. 24, 1946. They both worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where she had a successful 35-year career. She was an active member of the community that included working the polls at election time. She was a long time member of West Helena Baptist Church and an active member of the Rachel Sunday School Class. She continued to participate in Sunday School each week by conference call for over two years after health concerns required her to move to Sherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. D and Capitola Lewis and her husband, George W. Bloesch, Sr. She is survived by two sons, George W. Bloesch, Jr. (Judy) of Waldron, Ark. and Richard D. Bloesch (Ron Selby) of North Little Rock; one grandson, Cory Bloesch of Fayetteville, Ark. Services for Mrs. Bloesch will be Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Roller-Citizens Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 21, 2015 from 6-8 p.m., also at the chapel.
