Helen Francis Wages Dortch Deaton, 95, of Sheridan, died Saturday, September 19, 2015, in El Dorado. She was born March 6, 1920, in Bearden, to Tom and Lula Martin Wages. She was reared and received her early education in Sparkman. She worked for Kellwood for several years, retiring in 1983. She married Oris C. Dortch April 8, 1939, and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1982. She later married Horace Deaton, and he also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her oldest son, Carthel Junior Dortch and his wife, Anne, and by all her siblings: Alfred, Henry, Leonard, Floyd, Elma, Alvie, Lena, and Inell, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving charter member of First Assembly of God in Sheridan. Survivors are her children, Doris and Don Ashcraft of El Dorado, Jerry and Glenda Dortch of Searcy, Jerrell and Debbie Dortch of Springfield, Missouri, Bud and Sandra Deaton of Montgomery, Texas; grandchildren: Lee Anne, Kelly, Britt, Dara, Denton, J.L., Keith, Kim, Shona, Ty, Jarrod, J Kelly, Brent, Scott, 24 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at First Assembly of God in Sheridan, with Reverend Jimmy Bobo officiating. Burial will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery, by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan, Tuesday evening, 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Sheridan First Assembly of God, Building Fund, 310 W.
