Phyllis Ann Keener

Phyllis Ann Keener, 89, of Cabot, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015. She was born September 8, 1926, in Alluwe, Okla., to the late Cyrus T. Thurston and Pearl Nichols Thurston. Phyllis loved to fish, camp, and cook, and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Ross Thurston, Richard Thurston, and Louis Thurston, and sister, Wanda Byrd. Phyllis is survived by her husband, G.B. (Buck) Keener, children; Darlene Walker (Jake), Gary Keener (Debbie), and Mike Keener (Debi); sister, Dixie June Thurston, brother, Leslie Thurston (Jan), sister-in-law, Betty Sue Thurston, seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, September 26, 3-3:30 p.m., in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, with service beginning at 3:30 p.m. Donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1 Scimitar Circle, Little Rock, Ark. 72209.
