Neva Irene Pfeifer, 101, of Rogers, passed away September 16, 2015. She was born on December 22, 1913 in Seligman, Mo. to the late Henry Lee Wedding and Grace Mae Roller Wedding. For nearly 60 years she was the loving wife of Wendel Pfeifer, who preceded her. She and her husband retired to Rogers from Southern California and were members of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. Irene's working life ranged from wife and homemaker to Hallmark greeting card painter to WWII ammunition inspector to fine jewelry salesperson. She and Wendel took-up square dancing after retiring and combining that with a love of travel, danced in China, Ireland and Russia. She continued to attend her late-husband's Seabee reunions after his passing. Irene also had a knack for sewing, making beautiful quilts for her grandsons well into her 80's and 90s. She was an avid recycler, concerned with keeping the earth clean and safe for her grandchildren and future generations. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Imogene Reynolds and son-in-law, Deane Knapp. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Knapp of California; her son, John Pfeifer and wife Carolyn of Texas; her grandchildren Kyle Knapp and wife Katie, Ethan Knapp and wife Alyssa, and Travis Knapp; and great-grandchildren, Brady, Logan, Finn and Lucianne Knapp. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, September 25 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers with entombment Saturday in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City. Memorials are suggested to Mrs. Pfeifer's favorite charities: Boys Town, P.O.
