Johnnie "Mike" Halpine, Jr.

Johnnie "Mike" Halpine Jr., 66, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015 surrounded by family at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Helen Halpine. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Vickie Crawford Halpine, daughter, Laura and her husband Jimmy, son, Michael and his wife Ruth; five grandchildren, Bradley Brown, Ashley Brown, Alex Haney, Beau Shilling and Dalton Shilling; a sister, Phyllis Sugg, and two brothers, Roy and Ronnie Halpine. Mike served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army's 25th Infantry Division. After returning from the war Mike worked at Reynolds Metals Company for 17 years and then went to work for the Bryant School District where he worked in maintenance and drove a school bus for 29 years until he retired in June 2014. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday September 30, 2015 at the Ashby Funeral Home in Benton. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Ashby Funeral Home.
