Kenneth Paul Hunt

Kenneth Paul Hunt, 83, of Vidor, died peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer on Sunday September 27, 2015 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. He was born on November 29, 1931 to Preston and Mable Hunt of Point Cedar, Ark. Kenneth was one of 14 children born into a family of migrant workers who traveled the United States extensively, following crops. He had a great love of music and played drums in his brother's band when the opportunity presented itself. He was a service man in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He met the love of his life, Rita Jane Palique, while stationed in Orange, Texas. Kenneth was a retired route salesman for Gideon Distributing. He was a loving and devoted father who loved working outdoors and spending time with his family. Kenneth Hunt is preceded in death by his son, Patrick Hunt, parents Preston and Mable Hunt, brothers, Dale, Bremer, Jack, Horace and Gerald Hunt, and sister,s Louise Brothers, and Vedra Britton. Survivors include his wife, Rita Hunt, sons Kenneth Hunt, Jr., William Hunt, Franklin Hunt, Peter Hunt and wife Kim, Daniel Hunt and wife Margaret, daughter, Rose Luce and husband Kenneth, brothers, Joel and Donald Hunt, sisters, Hazel Orfanis, Norma Becker, Virginia Ciske, and Dorris Hunt, 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces who all proclaim he was their favorite uncle. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday October 2, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor with a gathering in the parish hall afterwards.
