Charles R. "Bud" Garner, Jr., 71, passed away Friday, September 25th in Fort Smith after a brief illness. He was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on July 31st, 1944. A graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas Law School, he was a practicing attorney for over 35 years until his retirement in 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles R. Garner Sr., and Margaret Jane (Tarpley) Garner. Bud enjoyed blues music, hot rod cars, camping, fishing, the Arkansas Razorbacks, his little dog Breezy, and being "Grampy" to his beloved grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Movie Lounge, 7601 Rogers Ave., in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sandra of the home; three sons, Charles Garner and wife Jennifer of Alma, Brian Garner and Evan Garner, both of Fort Smith; a brother, Justin "Chip" Garner of Charleston; and five grandchildren: Cassidy, Chase, Paige, Nickolas, and Jameson.
