Arlee Washburn Reed of Bryant, Ark. left for her spiritual home on March 31st, 2016, guided by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was 88 years old. Arlee was born in Floyd, Ark. to Robert and Ellie Washburn on June 15th, 1927. Her family home of ten children included six brothers and four sisters. She graduated from Floyd High School, and completed secretarial school in Missouri during World War II. Her secretarial skills included 30 years service with the Arkansas Internal Revenue Dept. Arlee Washburn married Melvin F Reed on November 8th, 1948 and resided in Little Rock, Ark. They had two daughters, Patricia Ann and Cynthia Marie. Arlee's family was the joy of life and included four granddaughters: Paige, Haley, Sarah, and Emily, and five great-grandchildren: Taylor, Keely, Brayden, Cade, and Ryn. Arlee and Melvin joined Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in 1957, attending faithfully to present day. Arlee Washburn Reed is survived by her family, including spouse, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents and all siblings. Visitation will be Saturday, April 2nd, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander. A graveside service will be follow at Pine Crest Memorial Park in Alexander, at 2 p.m. The Reed family would like to thank the Saline County Hospice House staff for their love and support.
