TSgt. William Gordon Roman USAF (Ret.) age 86, of Jacksonville passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. He was born February 15, 1930 in Oneonta, N.Y. to the late Frank and Frances Roman. Mr. Roman retired from the United States where served in Thailand, England and numerous other bases. Following his retirement he worked for the Federal Reserve Bank, he was a supporter of the NRA and an avid gun advocate. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Maria Roman, and two sisters Wanda Perry and Catherine Polizzi. He is survived by his daughter, Christina Berthiaume and her husband Gerald, one granddaughter, Heather Weeks and her husband Bart, one great-grandson, Gavin Weeks, his step-son, Joe Matuszwski and his wife Brenda, and his step-grandson, Brett Matuszwski, A private funeral service for family and close friends will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
