Leonard F. Harrison

Leonard F. Harrison, 88, of Vimy Ridge was born on January 8, 1928 and passed away on April 4, 2016. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Lorene (Wilson) Harrison; his parents, Millard Seal Harrison and Lilla Ura (Williams) Harrison; brothers, Cecil, Harold, Garland, Edward and Maxie Gene Harrison; and his sisters, Marguerite Vandergrift and Mary Louise Hancock. He is survived by his sister, Ura Mae Jackson; children: Alice (Gerald) Ritter, Kathy (Gil) Blais, Gordon (Doris) Harrison, Joyce (Moki) Lowe; grandchildren: Abbie Ritter, Karen Jones, Tina (Matt) Birdsong, Lindsey Harrison, Johnna (Patrick) Thomas, Grant (Kim) Harrison, Amy (Rob) Hartsell, Jennifer (John) Wortman, Liz (Kit) Curlin, Emily Lowe and six great-grandchildren. Leonard started work at Coleman Dairy in 1948, delivering milk door to door. He was a dependable and devoted employee for 44 years until he retired in 1992. Leonard was a dedicated scholar of the Bible and its teachings. Through the years, he served the Lord in the roles of Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Music Director, and Church Treasurer. The role he will most be remembered for is Sunday School teacher. He faithfully taught Sunday School from a young age until he was 87. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at Village Creek Baptist Church 13224 Sardis Road Mabelvale followed by burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
