Vernon L Douthit, 69 of Springdale, took his last breath on Earth and his first one in heaven on April 5 a little before 9 a.m. He was born July 21, 1946 in Springdale to Willie and Edith (Miles) Douthit. Vernon attended Springdale High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Pilgrims Rest Freewill Baptist Church. One of Vernon's greatest pleasures was his Annual Hunting Trip with his friends. Vernon could best be described as "a good man". He never hesitated to help anyone in need. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Ingraham) Douthit; a daughter, Courtney R. Wells and husband Clifton of Springdale; two sons, Jeremy E. and Carl J. Douthit both of Springdale; six grandsons, Colin L. Wells and wife Becky of Springdale, Caylon L Wells with the United States Army, Coleby L Wells and Caysey L Wells both of Springdale, Landon J and Bryce L Douthit of Bentonville and two granddaughters, Joslyn A. and Adalyn M. Douthit of Bentonville and his great-grandson, Jaxon L. Wells of Springdale; one brother, Carroll Douthit of wife Terry of Springdale; three sisters, Wathena Holt and husband Loyd of Clarksville, Cathay Love and husband Bert of Harrison, Arkansas and Loretta Plummer and husband Denton of Oklahoma. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 1pm at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with the Reverend Randall Galloway officiating. Memorials may be made to Hero's Haven at the VA Medical Center, 1100 N College Ave., Fayetteville, Arkansas 72703, where the family believes true Angels exist.
