Bimlendra Sharma

Dr. Bimlendra Sharma died peacefully at his home in Hot Springs, Arkansas on April 4, 2016 at the age of 79. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Diane; five children; eleven grandchildren; and three brothers; along with extend family in India. Dr. Sharma was born in Aligarh, India in 1936. He graduated from the University of Lucknow / King George Medical College in 1960 and completed further training in medicine and cardiology at the Royal College of Physicians in Yorkshire, Leeds, and London, England. He moved to the United States and served as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. He subsequently served as associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. From 1987 until his retirement in 2012, he devoted his time to private practice at Cardiology Care Clinic in Hot Springs. His passion was medicine and caring for those with heart disease. He devoted his life to caring for many patients through his practice at Cardiology Care Clinic for nearly three decades. He greatly appreciated all of the patients and staff and genuinely cared for all of the lives he touched. In his time away from the clinic and hospital, he enjoyed playing chess and table tennis, spending time with his wife and grandchildren, gardening, and creating watercolor pencil drawings. The family requests no flowers or gifts. "These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." John 14:25-27.
