Wilma Jean Guss Mayfield

Wilma Jean Guss Mayfield was born May 24, 1934 in Maysville to William Kenneth Guss and Maudie Tucker Guss. Wilma left this life on April 9, 2016 in Rogers. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents and nephews, Ken Webster and Spencer Franklin. Wilma is survived by her husband, James Mayfield of the home; children, Diana Mayfield-Broit and husband, Sergio of Southwest Florida, Greg Mayfield and wife, Gwynne of Garfield; and six grandchildren; by her sisters, Irene Webster of Rogers and Bobbye Robbins and husband, George of Kingston, Ark.; and by many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the many people that her life touched. Wilma worked with the young people of her church as long as her health allowed. Wilma graduated from Bentonville High School in 1953 and was employed by Munsingwear Hosiery until its close. She was then employed at Rogers Tool, where she met her husband. After her retirement Wilma had more time to knit, to garden and to grow the beautiful flowers she loved, and to spoil the children in her life. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12 at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Rogers First Church of the Nazarene. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Children's Ministry of Rogers Church of the Nazarene at 4911 W Pleasant Grove Rd, Rogers, AR 72758. Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville.
