Earl "Gene" Chandler

Earl "Gene" Chandler, 73, of Centerton, Arkansas died April 9, 2016 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born June 22, 1942 in Greenwich, Ohio to the late Earl and Betty (Westbrook) Chandler. He grew up in Greenwich, Ohio where he attended school. His nickname was "Newt". He played basketball, baseball and ran track all through school and later coached Little League. Gene loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. In early jobs, he worked in grain silos, later he became a builder, building many houses in and around Bentonville having lived in Arkansas for 50 years. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Sheila; children, Denny and wife, Gina Chandler, Denise Chandler and husband, Erick Walder, Dusty Chandler, Tiffany Pittman and husband, Edward Howell, Corennia Garrett and husband, Rob, Christina Worrell and husband Roger; sister, Judy Ebinger, and husband Gary; brother, Tom Chandler and wife Marilee; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. 72715.
