Stanley Simpson

Stanley Simpson, age 88, died April 12, 2016 at Heritage Living Center in Conway. He was born October 23, 1927 in DeWitt. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Gillcoatt Simpson. Survivors include his sister, Frankie Langston; three nephews: Jim, Tom and Bill Langston all of Harrison, daughter, Nancy Staton Lovett and husband, Wayne of Conway; four grandchildren: John Whiting (Dawn) of Hattieville, Mike Whiting of Gillett, Stan Christopher Staton (Angela) of Jonesboro, Jennifer Holbrook of Conway; great grandchildren: Kristina Whiting, Preston Whiting, Ethan Whiting, Lacey Hines (Morgan), LogenGilbert (Sarah), Hayden Staton, Grant Staton, Rachel Tyrer, Sophie Tyrer, Tashia Tyrer, Staton Holbrook and Lauren Holbrook. Mr. Simpson was a Veteran of World War II. He was a life long resident of DeWitt, where he owned and operated Simpson Chevrolet Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Volunteer Fire Dept., the DeWitt Jaycees and the DeWitt Rotary Club, receiving the honor of a Paul Harris Fellow. He was active in the DeWitt Community serving as president of Rotary Club and Jaycees. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 14th at Essex Funeral Home with visitation 10 to 11 a.m. before the service. Burial will be at Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens. essexfuneralhome.com.
