David Bozeman, 78, of Portland, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Mr. Bozeman was a native and lifelong resident of Portland. He was a member of the Arkansas National Guard for 26 years and he worked for Arkansas AG for 52 years having retired in 2015. He was a member of the Portland Baptist Church, a Mason and a member of the Hamburg Prairie Lodge #465. He loved to garden and cook and cooked fish for whoever asked. He was a hard worker and a devoted father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Ann Chapman Bozeman in 2013; a daughter, Cynthia Ann Smith; a grandson, Tommy Wayne ‘Pork Chop" Smith; his parents, Guy David & Velora Hudgins Bozeman and a brother, Raymond Bozeman. He is survived by three daughters, Pam Hackett and husband, Dave, of Dermott, Guylene Bozeman and Davinia Martin and husband, Wilburn, all of Portland; four brothers, Charles Bozeman and wife, Linda, of Monroe, Louisiana, George Bozeman of Portland, Russell Bozeman of Little Rock and Jimmy Bozeman and wife, Donna, of Portland; three sisters, Mary Jane Streeter of Dermott, Karon Roberts and husband, Jimmy, of Hamburg and Julia Bridges and husband, Dan, of Kingsburg, California; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Portland Baptist Church with Jerry Selby and Rev. Carl Mason officiating. Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery. Pallbearers are Frank Pugh, Don Arensman, Franklin Ricks, Jeff Foster, Robert Hawthorn, H.T. Cunningham, Ronnie Kelley and Curtis Rotton, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Arkansas AG in Portland and Lake Village. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
