Shirley Jean Meyer, 80, of Hot Springs, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, April 17, 2016. She was born June 11, 1935 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Willie Keith and Gladys Swisher. Shirley was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Athena club, the PEO Club and an active member of the Bridge House. She very much enjoyed the Arts, dancing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Loving survivors include her husband of 56 years, Darrell Meyer, of Hot Springs; son, Kirk Meyer and wife, Kristy, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; son, Jay Meyer, of Alamosa, Colorado; daughter, Laura Meyer Clark, of Arlington, Texas; nine grandchildren: Cassidy Sullivan, Colton and Connor Clark, Jordan and Sara Meyer, Logan, Devon, Megan and Ethan Meyer; one great-grandson, Larry Karnes IV; sisters, Ann Ford, of San Antonio, Texas, Virginia Allgaier, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Sue Mayer, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. A Life Celebration for Shirley will be 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Mattox and Rev. David Wilson officiating.
