Ardell C. Pennington

Ardell C. Pennington, 93, of Springdale left this world on April 20, 2016 at Washington Regional Medical Center to sing with the angels. He was born Feb. 13, 1923 in Wallville, Okla. to Jasper and Dora McMillan Pennington. Mr. Pennington served four years in the Marine Corps during World War II. He was a musician and sang in nursing homes in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. He organized a music show, Country Your Way, in Springdale during 2000 and it is still active today. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Pennington; a step-son, David Horton of Lampe, Mo.; three step-daughters, Patricia Elliot of Rogers, Ann Owen and her husband, Bob of Tontitown, and Linda Horton of Springdale; eight step-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many, many friends. Mr. Pennington was dearly loved by everyone and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be 1 p.m., Mon., April 25, 2016 prior to the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale.
